Inner west fans of Merivale’s Totti’s we have good news: you no longer need to travel to Bondi or the CBD to eat its handmade pastas and cult puffy bread – the hospitality group has opened a version of its popular casual Italian eatery in the 3 Weeds pub.
The company bought the 130-year-old hotel in 2019 and until now had not done much work on it. But after a renovation, it’s reopened today with a Totti’s. The rest of the pub will follow shortly.
“For more than 70 or 80 years, the previous owners added on spaces to the corner pub – sheds, storage and that sort of thing. And Justin [Hemmes, Merivale CEO], Bettina [Hemmes, interior designer] and the architecture team have pulled that all back to create, essentially, one beautiful room. It’s stunning,” Mike Eggert, Totti’s executive chef, tells Broadsheet.

Join NowThe news comes on the back of Merivale reopening its CBD Bar Totti’s last week with more space and a larger kitchen, meaning that pastas are available for the first time. It can also serve bigger dishes cooked on its new Josper grill, such as wood-roasted whole fish, large steaks and whole lobster specials.
The Rozelle Totti’s will have a very similar menu, but will also lean into its dessert options. You’ll be able to get ice-cream sundaes and lots of gelato. “We have a gelato bar so kids can come in and order a scoop or two to take-away,” says Eggert.
Totti’s Rozelle is now open at 3 Weeds, 197 Evans Street, Rozelle.
