We’ve been anticipating the opening of Wisemans Surf Lodge for quite some time. The new resort-style surfing destination will have a wave pool the size of four football fields, as well as a golf course and a 54-suite hotel. Now we can add Harvest Wisemans to the list – the second venue for renowned Byron Bay eatery Harvest Newrybar.

Set to open in 2022, the new eatery will serve local produce from the Hawkesbury region across a multi-purpose venue with outdoor dining spaces, a barbeque deck, kiosk and a discovery garden for families. Harvest’s creative director David Moyle (also at Barrio, formerly at Franklin) says in a statement: “In our 15 years at Newrybar we’ve been able to scale up as our community grows with us.

“Harvest Wisemans allows us to take these learnings and build this from day one through an extensive offering unique to the Hawkesbury. Whether you’re grabbing breakfast at the kiosk, exploring the garden or enjoying a sundowner on the deck, we look forward to enabling new food experiences for the region.”

Like the Newrybar venue, the one at Wisemans Ferry will be environmentally conscious. It’ll have 100 per cent offset renewable energy and there’ll be seasonal produce sourced from nearby orchards and vineyards. Though access to the Wisemans Surf Lodge will operate on a membership basis, the restaurant will be open to the public.

Harvest Wisemans is set to open in 2022.
