Redfern sanga spot Good Ways Deli has gained a cult following for its outstanding sandwiches and nostalgic baked treats. In response to its popularity, co-owners Tom Pye (ex-Coffee Supreme) and Jordan McKenzie (ex- Orana Sydney, Cho Cho San) launched Good Ways Buckland, a sequel to their Redfern original towards the end of 2022.

The duo have recreated the minimalist aesthetic of the original inside a heritage-listed former corner shop on a leafy residential street. It’s light and airy, with just a few bench seats. Because it’s smaller than the OG, most of the baking continues to happen at Redfern. But what this place lacks in size it makes up for in exclusive food and drink options.

All your favourite sandwiches on house-made rolls are here. But there's also an oozy cheese toastie on tin-loaf bread, a breakfast special and a classic ham sandwich. The savoury and sweets cabinet are expanded, too. Alongside Good Ways’ house-made, country bakery-inspired treats (like rhubarb jam-laden lamingtons and Anzac biscuits), find flaky curried-kangaroo-sausage rolls, cheese-and-spinach rolls, and sourdough malt loaves to-go. Plus, it’s selling trendy bread bags to carry your loaves home in, as well as a range of Good Ways mugs.

Joining coffee (beans are Coffee Supreme), house-made sodas and thick shakes, are an iced Milo mocha and a strawberry creaming soda spider.
