• Aru, the slick Little Collins Street restaurant, has launched a $75 set lunch menu that changes every fortnight, available from Tuesdays to Fridays until the end of August. The new menu starts on Friday July 26 and includes miso soup, pork belly with a soy dipping sauce, fried eggplant with a roasted dashi seasoning and more.
• New World Sandwiches has opened on Brunswick Street, Fitzroy. The shop from Rajinder Singh has an around the world menu that includes a Punjabi tandoori chicken number, an Aussie steak sandwich, and an Irish ham and cheese.
• Camberwell cake shop Sucre du Jour has teamed up with South Yarra Asian smokehouse Yan on a set menu dinner for Qiqiao (Chinese Valentine’s Day) on Saturday August 10. Bookings are open now.

SIGN UP• Neds Bake in Middle Park is now open for dinner Wednesday through Sunday from 5pm. The Neds at Night menu includes steak frites, garlic bread, a lobster croissant, handmade pappardelle with lamb ragu, and a classic lemon tart. Dinner service is due to start at the South Yarra location in September.
• Non-alcoholic wine brand Non Wines and South Yarra vegan restaurant Lona Misa have teamed up for a three-course matched set menu from now until Wednesday July 31. Book in for a non-alcoholic vegan dinner with dishes including Spanish salpicao slaw made with herbed “chicken”; cabbage, corn and other vegetables served; and a burnt caramel flan paired with Non beverages.
