The Little Food Market

The Little Food Market is a tasting tour of food and drink from some of Australia’s favourite established and small-scale producers – from wine and spirits to condiments, cheeses and pastries. As always, Broadsheet Access members can experience the event like VIPs, with a premium double pass.

For the first time, the market is introducing a dedicated cheese precinct, where you can sample your way through cheeses from Milawa Cheese Company, Stone & Crow, Long Paddock Cheese, Grandvewe Sheep Milk Cheeses and many more.

You’ll also find areas dedicated to producers from three Victorian regions: Bendigo, Gippsland and the Mornington Peninsula. And there’s a feasting precinct, where Melbourne restaurants (including Ca Com, DOC and Wonder Pies) will serve up signature dishes.

Browse products from beloved brands like Mount Zero Olives, MoVida, Pistachio Papi, Madeleine Butter and Cobb Lane. We’ll be keeping an eye out for bottles from Tasmanian distillery Taylor & Smith, sake from Sea Salt Yuzushu and fresh apples from Montague Farms.

Need to cleanse your pallet (and put that tasting glass to good use)? Wine producers from local and afar travel to show you the best their region has to offer. There’s Pt. Leo Estate from Mornington Peninsula, Fleet Wines from Gippsland, and Pizzini from the King Valley, to name but just a few. Those who prefer a gin cocktail, or independently brewed larger will also be looked after.

The market will also host a line-up of entertainment with the return of the free Chef's Hat Stage. Here, stars such as Alice Zaslavsky, Miss Trixie, Nick Ryan and other culinary experts will be sharing sharing their tips, tricks and live cooking (with tastings expected, of course). The program will span across the Friday, Saturday and Sunday. So, be sure to check out the schedule ahead of your visit.
