When you're pushing the boat out, it doesn't get much better than steak and oysters. This winter, you can enjoy them right by the sea at an unforgettable dinner by Hot-Listed restaurant Stokehouse Pasta & Bar and acclaimed Aussie beef farm Westholme Wagyu.
As part of Broadsheet’s debut Dine Out festival, the seaside restaurant is hosting an three-course Wagyu and oyster dinner led by executive chef Jason Staudt. (Staudt has cooked for the Obamas and previously worked at Matt Moran’s Sydney restaurant Atria.) At this one-off dinner, he’ll serve a distinct menu featuring fresh and hot oysters, alongside Westholme’s world-renowned Wagyu cuts.
Start the night with oysters, Wagyu canapes and welcome drinks in the gorgeous bay room. Staudt will then step out of the kitchen to run a masterclass on oysters from across New South Wales – including how to open and eat them properly. You’ll then be seated for a feast featuring starters like Wagyu skewers with oyster mayo, oysters cooked in Wagyu fat and hot smoked oysters. The main event is a prime rib served alongside charred sugarloaf cabbage, wedge salad, spinach and ricotta stuffed mushrooms, and garlic and rosemary roasted potatoes. While dessert is gelato served tableside from a roaming cart.
The menu is available for one night, from 5pm–9pm, for $125 per person. Book here.
