If we could sum up Fitzroy North wine bar Public Wine Shop in one word, it’d “thoughtful”. From the wines they stock to the way they serve them, owners Campbell Burton and Charlotte Ryan do everything with intention. Likewise, the chefs they hire and bring in for pop-ups are always chef’s chefs: Ali Currey-Voumard and more recently, Ben Sears.

Now, for Broadsheet’s debut Dine Out festival, Public Wine Shop hosting a name of similar sensibilities: Alisdair Brooke-Taylor. The Australian chef currently heads up Canberra’s highly regarded Bar Rochford. Before that, he and partner Aimee Turford spent five years turning The Moorcock Inn, outside Manchester, into one of the top restaurants in the UK.
