Fourth Village Providore
6:00pm - 11:00pm
The first thing you notice about Mosman’s Fourth Village Providore is its vibrancy. A family business owned and operated by husband and wife team Peter and Annette Quattroville, Fourth Village is deli with a difference. The front of the providore features a greengrocer with floor-to-ceiling walls of seasonal produce, and neighbouring shelves are lined with local and imported items, including olive oil and wine from the Quattroville’s Hunter Valley farm. A bustling restaurant sits toward the back, featuring a bar, pizzeria and gelataria, that opens out to Mosman Square. Not to be missed on any visit, is the walk-in fromagerie room, stacked with wheels and wedges of local and imported cheeses.
Start with a Prosecco Bellini with house-made peach nectar, before choosing from almost 20 toppings from the wood-fired pizza oven. Traditional favourites include patate e salsiccia, thin slices of potato and pork sausage on a mozzarella base drizzled with truffle oil. The restaurant menu features lighter options such as shoestring calamari and zucchini fritti as well as pastas and risottos including housemade egg tagliatelle with roasted root vegetables and lamb ragu. To finish, follow through on the traditional Italian theme and try Fourth Village’s tiramisu.
