Georges Heights near Mosman was previously used by the military to spot incoming enemy vessels. Nowadays it’s home to one of the North Shore’s best spots to see the sunrise, or just to wander around the headland. With such a history of defence, remains of underground tunnels, gun pits and barracks can be explored, all with an awe-inspiring backdrop of views that stretch all the way across the harbour to Manly, Vaucluse and the CBD.
