Features
In a tiny shopfront on Gladesville Road, a local husband-and-wife team, made up of Melina and Angelo Frelingos, is turning out freshly baked pastries, quiches, sausage rolls and pies from the in-house bakery.
All the kitchen activity can be seen through huge glass panels. Behind the counter there’s also a sizeable display of fresh bread that comes daily from the Gregory’s Bread bakery at the Sydney Fish Market, which is also owned and run by the Frelingos and has been in the family for 25 years.
The cafe space is fresh and compact and the coffee no afterthought, with Will & Co. coffee featuring as the house brew. It’s a popular little bakery and it often sells out, so get in early if you want your pick of the pastries.
