Falcona 10th Birthday Featuring DMA’s
First came wildly popular deep-house DJ Solomun, and in May high-profile DJ Jamie Jones will play, but this instalment of the Wool Store parties – run by Untitled Group (Duke Street Block Party, Pitch Music and Arts Festival, Beyond the Valley) – is taking a look back at the dance music of decades past.
Headlining the party is breakout Australian band DMA’s. Heavily influenced by British acts like The Stone Roses and Happy Mondays (who, starting in the ’80s, combined the worlds of the nightclub and the bandroom), they’ll be doing their best to turn the 5000-capacity 1940s warehouse into a West Footscray approximation of Manchester’s legendary Haçienda nightclub.
They’ll be supported by Hot Dub Time Machine (whose chronological DJ sets span decades worth of dance music), as well as sets from Queensland producer Young Franco, masked DJ Running Touch, pop singer George Maple and more.
The party is a 10th birthday celebration for promoters Falcona, whose recent signings Graace and Approachable Members of Your Local Community will also take the stage.
