Sydney Science Trail 2021

Mon 16th August, 2021 – Mon 13th September, 2021
Online
Price: Free
The Australian Museum and Royal Botanic Garden Sydney are taking their interactive science festival online for a second year – and it’s free to take part.

Uncover the science and technology behind your favourite food in the second Sydney Science Trail – an entirely digital and on-demand learning platform as part of National Science Week.

This year’s theme is Food: Different by Design. There’ll be online games, tours, competitions and at-home science experiments that you can do with your kids to discover more about the way science works in the world every day.

There are five virtual zones to explore: Earth, Plants, Animals, Technology and Space. You can take an adventure-style game to learn about wheat rust; join scientists as they discuss science in popular movies; design a rocket with aerospace engineers; and create a plant morph – mutating plant images.

There’ll be beekeepers, journalists, First Nations plant experts and palaeontologists to interact with online Plus, Emily’s Wonder Lab host Emily Calandrelli and Deadly Science founder Corey Tutt will be taking part too.

Sydney Science Trail is free; register to take part here.
