Fempre$$: WISHWITCH at Carriageworks
The Liveworks Festival is a 10-day line-up of art and events showcasing boundary-pushing artists from Australia and the Asia Pacific. On Saturday October 20, the huge space will transform for a club night of music and immersive video art, celebrating women of colour.
Brisbane-based artist and Aboriginal woman Hannah Brontë’s Fempre$$ will make its Sydney debut after parties in Brisbane and Melbourne.
Drawing on First Nations cultural practices of empowerment, the music will spotlight female hip-hop artists, rappers and DJs, with the aim of transporting you to “an alternate universe where societal structures are challenged and matriarchal futures manifest”.
If past iterations of Fempre$$ are anything to go by, expect lots of pink, palm trees, and a pulsing dance floor.
Starts at 9pm.
