Dark, brooding and utterly cool, Assin houses Sydney’s most carefully curated selection of men’s and women’s apparel and accessories by the likes of Rick Owens, Ann Demeulemeester, Dior Homme, Maison Martin Margiela and its own house brand.

Stepping inside onto the polished concrete floors, freestanding racks present a gallery of the most exquisite garments favoured by artists and inquisitives the world over. Prices start high and go up. Similar to its Melbourne counterpart, the boutique encourages a less-is-more approach to dressing, where the emphasis is on quality, not quantity. The uninitiated may feel a little intimidated, but for the design kids this is the best and biggest candy store in town.

Store staff act as inspiration with their own unique interpretations of the current stock, pairing a heavy, draped black cape with fluoro Adidas sneakers and layered brushed metal jewellery.
