Nestled in the heart of Mildura’s restaurant precinct, Sip. knowingly combines capital-city cool with cosy regional vibes. Credit goes to owners Steph Bradshaw and Damo Arney, who have leaned equally on Bradshaw’s local knowledge from growing up in Mildura and on Arney’s extensive hospitality experience in Adelaide since opening this inviting bar in 2017.
The results speak for themselves: uncluttered retro decor in a small space, prizing a casual conversational intimacy that evokes a close mate’s lounge room. Meanwhile, the dog-friendly outdoor seating is an ideal spot to catch up under the sun.
Handcrafted cocktails are the focus, making the most of spirits from Renmark’s 23rd Street Distillery and other regional producers. A rotating line-up of quirky Australian craft beer thrives alongside wines from McLaren Vale and beyond. On the food front, it’s all about share plates, with the kitchen slinging everything from mouth-watering antipasti platters to signature corn ribs until late. An additional vegan share menu features salt and pepper tofu, crumbed mushrooms, and vegan brownies with coconut ice cream.
You’ll find Arney behind the bar perfecting the cocktails, while themed parties and other semi-regular treats keep Sip. firmly in favour.
