Thornbury Theatre
859 High Street, Thornbury 3071
Price: $35–$45
Grab a tea cup and boil the kettle for an afternoon of honest conversation and song, with a journalist, musician and returning Aussie activist.

Writer, broadcaster, engineer and activist Yassmin Abdel-Magied has achieved more than most her age, and endured more in the media spotlight too.

After relocating to London late last year, Sudanese-born Abdel-Magied is coming home to Australia for a brief visit, and will spend a Sunday afternoon with journalist Jamila Rizvi and singer-songwriter Clare Bowditch.

The third instalment of Tea With Jam and Clare promises a cosy afternoon of honest conversation and song in the Thornbury Theatre, starting with a provocation by Rizvi on the concept of belonging, followed by a discussion of Australian identity, the myth of the "good migrant" and much more. Bowditch will lead the room on a group singing adventure to finish the day.

Calmer Sutra will provide free chai on entry, and doors open an at 2pm, so you can settle in and have a chat to warm up your vocal chords before the main event.

From 3pm–4.30pm. More information here.
