Chauncey Street, Heathcote While events of this nature are usually dubbed “food and wine” festivals, mix up the order of these two components while on the ground in Heathcote and you may encounter a few stern glances. This is a “wine and food” festival.
Wine is the headliner of this region, with more than 40 producers coming together for a weekend-long celebration. Heathcote is known for its shiraz, but is also home to a growing contingent of other Mediterranean varietals, from grenache, sangiovese and tempranillo to viognier, marsanne and riesling.
There’ll be wine tastings of current vintages, museum releases and special festival batches, along with food and live music. Enjoy a glass (or share a bottle) in the sunshine, or take something home for the cellar. Online ticket sales open July 15.
