The South Australian government is giving away another round of Great State vouchers to help resuscitate the state’s ravaged tourism sector.
The $2 million scheme is available to residents and interstate visitors and includes $100 vouchers for use at CBD and North Adelaide accommodation, and $50 vouchers for suburban and regional SA.
Vouchers will be available online from January 5 until the allocation is exhausted. If successful, you’ll have from January 7 to 31 to book, for travel between January 7 and March 31 (excluding Saturdays).
The first round of Great State vouchers, which launched in October and totalled $4 million, were snapped up in 90 minutes. So mark your diary.
The new round will include smaller operators with five or more rooms (a change from 10 or more in the first round) plus an extension of the travel booking period.
The Advertiser reports that new hotels such as the Majestic M Suites, EOS by SkyCity and Tom’s Court Hotel have already signed on. A full list of all participating accommodation providers will be available online soon.
“We know the summer holidays are traditionally a peak period for our tourism operators, and we are acting now to give travellers another incentive to visit our world-class regions and CBD,” Premier Steven Marshall told the Advertiser.
“With more choice for consumers in the second round about when and where to travel, this is exactly the boost our state’s visitor economy needs as it navigates the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.”
