Italian plimsoll brand Superga has opened its first standalone Australian store in Sydney’s World Square.

To celebrate the opening, it’s offering free eyelet customisation (the metal ring you loop your lace through) on two of its best-selling styles: the white canvas 2750 and 2790. You can choose from a range of different coloured eyelets – including blue, fuchsia, green, navy, pink, red, rose gold, white and yellow gold – for a multi-coloured pop on the otherwise white sneakers.

The small all-white boutique is brightly lit, illuminating rows of colourful lace-ups lining the walls. Marble tiling is a nod to the brand’s Italian heritage, while mirrors are emblazoned with the brand’s tagline “the people’s shoe of Italy.” The brand was founded in 1911 in Turin by Walter Martiny and became known for making tennis shoes. Today it’s owned by parent company Basic Net.

Two types of platform sneakers are also available exclusively in-store: the FancotW 2790 in black and white polka dots and the FancotW 2750 in white with red hearts.

You’ll also find all the Superga icons, from the 2750 to the 2790, in white canvas and leather, as well as a range of seasonal products, with a focus on fluro. The brand has branched into chunky pool slides for summer in leopard and zebra patterns, alongside white and pastel pink.
