Daily Eats serves vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free food, although there are plenty of meat, dairy and bread options as well. The salmon, quinoa and greens salad with a beetroot tahini dressing is typical of what you’ll get here. Another example is the Mama’s Boy, which features falafel, cucumber, tomato, snow pea, parsley and a lemon dressing. One meatier option is the Pork Belly Banger: twice cooked pork belly over brown rice and Vietnamese salad.

There’s a more concise takeaway selection, in addition to a small range of sandwiches. Aside from croissants and breads supplied by Brickfields , every other baked good is homemade and gluten-free.

Although the menu’s tinged with Asian and Middle-Eastern flavours, the focus here isn’t on one specific cuisine. Instead, the team at Daily Eats’ remit is to cook whatever’s healthiest – and tastes best.

Coffee is by Gypsy Espresso , but there’s also a variety of kombuchas, juices, prebiotic sodas and alkaline waters on offer, too.

Former owner Michelle Hughes is responsible for the fit-out, which has an industrial yet light feel. Inside you’ll find a few quirks that are a nod to the cafe’s previous occupant – a butcher – including a large wooden butchers block and barrels that have been converted into planter boxes.
