The Farmed Table 2018

Sun 25th November, 2018
Folonomo
370 Bourke Street, Surry Hills NSW
Price: $65
Eat produce direct from farmers at these seasonal special meals. This round is inspired by the chef's recent trip to Europe.

Chef Brendan Cato, formerly of Bondi's Sean’s Panaroma, is always on the hunt for local, sustainable organic produce. He gathers the ingredients direct from farmers and producers, and then organises dinners hosted by different venues. He calls it the Farmed Table.

The first in the series will be held at Mecca Coffee in Alexandria on Friday November 2 at 7.30pm. The menu features seafood from the NSW south coast, spring lamb from Robinson and organic produce from Mahbrook Organic's farm at Calderwood in Wollongong.

For the first time, Folonomo, Sydney’s first non-profit restaurant, will welcome the series. There are two sittings on Sunday November 18, 1pm and 6pm, and all the restaurant’s profits will go to a Taste of Paradise Farm in Berry, which offers mentoring and work experience for disadvantaged and at-risk young people. Casual walk-ins are welcome from 1pm to 10pm, who can purchase snacks and wine.

The following weekend, November 25, there are another two events at Folonomo, with profits going to charity Blue Dragon. It helps homeless children and children with disabilities, and rescues kids from slavery and human trafficking, in Vietnam.

Tickets for the dinners are sold through Humanitix and the services fee will be donated to OzHarvest.
