Melbourne Houseplant Festival

Sun 21st August, 2022
10:00am – 6:00pm
The Wool Mill
161 Donald Street, Brunswick East
Price: $9–$199
Take home some rare plants, make your own terrarium, get tips from plant experts and more at this giant plant palooza.

Monstera mums, fern fathers and pothos parents, it’s your time to shine. London’s Houseplant Festival has extended its roots to Melbourne for the first time, with activities and shopping opportunities for both budding and seasoned plant parents.

Lauren Camilleri and Sophia Kaplan of Leaf Supply, horticulturalist Dom Hooghuis of The Plant Runner and Alan Chan of @plant.jungle will be there in person to share their knowledge on all things plants, from positioning them in your home to picking out the best soil.

There are also workshops and activities you can join, like a staghorn fern-mounting workshop and putting together your own terrarium.

On the shopping front, you can – of course – purchase some green beauties to take home (including a few rare varieties), plus designer planters, handmade potting mix, books, botanical prints and more.

A two-hour budget ticket costs $9 and just includes entry, while the $19 two-hour pass includes up to two talks. The all-day access pass costs $79 and comes with 10 per cent off all stalls plus priority entry.

Workshops will cost extra, unless you purchase the $199 ticket that includes all three.
