Sold Out: Ministry of Crab Pop-Up at Crown
After a sold-out pop-up last year, internationally lauded Sri Lankan seafood diner Ministry of Crab is returning to Melbourne. For four weeks only, chef and restauranteur Dharshan Munidasa will be offering a five-course set menu – starring locally sourced northern Australian mud crab – inside Crown.
Diners can experience Munidasa’s signature pepper crab as well as new menu additions including garlic chilli crab, a chef’s tasting platter complete with Ministry of Crab favourites and fresh Pacific oysters with aged soy sauce and bloody shiraz gin caviar. And for dessert, enjoy coconut crème brûlée cooked in a whole coconut.
Munidasa’s Japanese and Sri Lankan heritage brings a unique sensibility to his dishes. Seafood is kept fresh until just before service when the chef prepares it in line with the Japanese technique of ikejime – it also helps maintain the quality of the meat.
Bookings cost $155 per person or $220 per person including wine paring.
