Inspiration comes in many forms, but perhaps none more impeccably styled and accessible than The Design Files Open House, which threw open its doors today from a stunning home in Hawthorn.

Now in its third year, the format remains deceptively simple: transform a residential home into an interactive retail space filled to the rafters with beautiful things, and open it to the public.

From lighting fixtures and sculptures to urban gardens and a mezzanine, no household space nor surface has been spared in this year’s sanctuary of good design, where even the wall paint (by Dulux) is a preview to next year’s colour trends.
