The second Miss Kay’s in leafy Mitchelton is very similar to the CBD outlet; the red-and-black colour scheme, the neon signage, subway tiles. Mitchelton’s key point of difference is its outdoor dining area – perfect for summer months in the suburbs.

The burgers are just as outrageous, too. There’s the Mac Daddy (300-day grain-fed Angus beef, mac’n’cheese, American cheese, lettuce, barbeque sauce, mayo and fries); the MK Special (beef, maple bacon, onion rings, American cheese, pickle, sweet barbeque sauce); and the Ludakrisp (crispy fried chicken, house slaw, pickle, sweet-barbeque sauce and mayo). Sides include fries, onion rings and fried wings.

Over the bar come craft brews such as Balter and James Squire, as well as Miss Kay’s inspired milkshake menu, which includes The Cee Lo Green (mint chocolate, topped with chocolate shavings) or The Elvis (peanut butter flavoured, topped with crushed peanuts and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups). Coffee is supplied by Fonzie Abbott Espresso.
