There’s nothing quite as satisfying as a home-cooked meal - except perhaps a homegrown one. The Little Veggie Patch Co in St. Kilda was founded with the kitchen gardener in mind, and particularly those without a big backyard.

Not only does Matthew Pemberton’s nursery specialise in edible green things (of both the seed and seedling varieties), but also in ready-to-grow gardens. If you haven’t got your own patch of earth, The Little Veggie Patch will deliver a handsome apple crate to your home, replete with great quality dirt. The Little Veggie Crates are essentially an instant garden, especially if you ask their gardeners to stick some seasonal vegetables in there for you too.

And, for those not naturally green of thumb, The Little Veggie Patch also has a range of gardening manuals written by the Little Veggie Crew themselves.

If going out of doors isn’t really your thing (admittedly, not a great sign for a budding botanist) you’re free to shop online for tools, heirloom seeds, literature and even pop-up veggie patches, all delivered to your door.
