At Say Cheese, it’s all about the story. Imagine leaving your village in early June, a herd of cows in tow. You head to the French Alps, climbing to 1500 metres above sea level, where your herd grazes on sweet mountain grass.

At the end of the summer season – late September – you, and the milk captured over those months, trek back down the mountains, ready to make your cheese. This is how Beaufort d’Alpage is produced, year after year.

Crazy imports such as this are the crown jewels of the Say Cheese collection. How about Sartori Bellavitano Espresso, an Italian-style cheese rubbed with ground espresso beans? Or a creamy, luxurious French variety – Cremeux d’Argental – with a glass of sparkling wine? Or you can skip the glass and snack on a cheese washed in French rosé.

Say Cheese’s incredible international collection is complemented by a long list of local cheeses – we’d suggest anything from Woodside Cheese Wrights – and other tasty asides. Day to day, the stall stocks around 120 varieties. If it’s all too overwhelming, place your trust in the friendly staff. It won’t steer you wrong.
