Booker T. Jones

Live and direct from Memphis, Tennessee, Booker T. Jones is gracing our shores with legendary soul-funk staples like Green Onions, Time Is Tight and Melting Pot. This multi-instrumentalist and producer has most recently teamed up with Questlove and The Roots for his new album The Road From Memphis.

Booker T. Jones has come a long way from listening to Phineas Newborn practice playing piano. After leaving Stax Records when Green Onions was a massive hit, he chose to study classical music before exploring the potential of soul and R&B with the MGs. Having co-written hits for Eddie Floyd, Otis Redding and Cream Booker T. has more recently recorded with Elton John, Neil Young, Drive By Truckers, and Rancid. He won a Grammy Lifetime Achievement in 2007 and was inducted in to the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in 1992. Need we say more?
