Ekka has finally wrapped for another year, the final fireworks display going up with its typical bluster on Sunday night. In 2017 the Royal Queensland Show continued to change. It’s more compact these days, but still manages to bring the country to the city, even if sometimes it feels more like the two are simply being flung together. Still, Ekka’s inner-city location and Brisbane’s relatively intimate relationship with regional Queensland means it remains arguably the best event of its type in Australia.
