The duo from Harvest Textiles – Lara Davies and Jess Wright – has finally launched Home-Work, a debut range of original designs that are created, digitally printed and produced in Melbourne.

After raising more than their $15,000 goal through a Pozible campaign in December last year, the online store is now live and ready to take your order.

The new print project takes its name from the struggle for equilibrium between professional and private life. “The name represents how we’re always torn between our home and our work. It’s supposed to be about that balance,” Wright says.

A strong commitment to design lies at the heart of Harvest Textiles and translates directly across to the Home-Work range; a bright collection of bedding, totes, make-up bags, pyramid-shaped beanbags and stationery made in their Brunswick studio. Cheery patterns have a fun Egyptian-spin, including a Scarabian Nights print, which features the iconic desert beetle.

While it may seem less romantic, the shift from hand-printed designs to wide-format digital printing has allowed the team to expand its range of bed linen to include double and queen sheets, as well as to inject more colour into the products.

“It’s given us a lot of freedom,” says Davies. “Now we can focus on having fun being designers and making our dream prints and we don’t have to deal with the realities of hand-printing it all.”
