The Big Shift

If you're reading this, chances are you can afford a roof over your head, eat breakfast out on the weekends and sleep in a warm bed at night. Sadly, not every one has access to these luxuries.

The Big Issue is an independent not-for-profit social enterprise that creates employment for the homeless, marginalised and disadvantaged. Also run by the same foundation is the Women’s Subscription Enterprise, an organisation that creates positive, generational change for homeless and disadvantaged women.

To help raise money and awareness of the WSE, The Big Issue is holding an event during Anti-Poverty week (October 13th to 19th). By buying a ticket, you can work alongside these courageous, strong women to help them pack magazines and build their new foundations. Afterwards, you can enjoy a few light refreshments and a yarn with the ladies. A year’s subscription to The Big Issue Magazine is included in the ticket price as well as a lifetime of good karma.
