On the leafy corner of Queen and Moncur St in Woollahra sits a plain, red brick building that locals once knew as the Post Office. The standard, unassuming architecture of the building is not indicative of what one who dares to enter will find inside—not a stamp or Postie's bike in sight, for one. The site somewhat unexpectedly contains all the glitz, ritz and razzle dazzle that is Australian makeup magnate Napoleon Perdis's Life.Style store; a curated space of mismatched, luxurious pieces given the tick of approval by Perdis himself.

The store suggests that 17 years at the helm of one of Australia's leading make-up companies have accorded Perdis with an appreciation of beauty and the finer things in life that extends beyond perfecting a woman's face.

Amidst items like Plexiglas jewellery courtesy of Jean-Marie Poinot (France), hand-blown glass objects in the shape of skyscrapers by Furthur Design (USA), porcelain objects from Klein Reid (USA) and animal-inspired jewellery from NACH (France) sit vintage, one-off pieces that give a nod to the glamour of yesteryear that is synonymous with the Napoleon Perdis brand.

Speaking of which, a large range of Napoleon products are on offer and on appointment you can get your make-up done in a private, powder room out the back. There's no nicer environment in which to buy a red lippy.
