Meni Cafe
Features
Meni Cafe is one of Wollongong’s weekday cafes. Situated across the road from Wollongong Hospital, the inviting and homey spot provides Reuben Hills coffee and all- day brunch.
All baked goods are made in- house and there are a lot of them, including the popular plain scones and a spinach and feta version. Neither last long in the morning rush. There’s always a display full of sandwiches and wraps to go, and for those looking to dine in, poached eggs and sides. Coffee-wise, there’s batch brew and espresso, using Reuben Hills’ blend and seasonal single origins.
The family-run business has expanded twice since opening in 2012. What started as a one-room espresso bar with a few tables is now three rooms. Along the way it’s accumulated some design quirks, including a door turned communal table and ties hanging from the ceiling like a chandelier.
The success of Meni has also led to two siblings. The much smaller Meni Piccadilly is just a short walk down the road,; and Lily J is near the foreshore.
