Features
Love Vintage Books is a second-hand specialist, devoted to old favourites from the past, forgotten authors and first-editions of major literary works. It’s inspired by the bookshops of London’s literary epicentre, Charing Cross Road.
But it’s not the size of the offering, or the nostalgic scent of old paper that draws readers to this charming Willoughby bookseller. It’s the sheer quality on-hand. Owner Margaret Dunstan is an absolute stickler for it, and is highly selective about what goes on the well-appointed shelves here. Think early copies of Alice in Wonderland, Pride and Prejudice, or a James Bond novel signed by Ian Fleming himself.
The children’s section is teeming with the same gold standard, although Dunstan says she could do with a few more Enid Blyton titles (the classic author fetches a handsome price these days).
