Gochiso's minimalistic interior is punctuated by the personal artistic touches of husband and wife owners, Sangmin Lee and Yoonjee Chae. Their creative works extend from life-size illustrations on the walls, to the series of portrait photographs taken by Lee on the streets of Tokyo.

Other decorative features include wooden light shades and petite table motifs, sourced from off-cuts from the fit-out.

Gochiso means "feast" in Japanese and the restaurant prides itself on using premium ingredients. It offers chicken katsu, Wagyu, salmon or chicken teriyaki bento boxes, complemented by plentiful amounts of salmon sashimi, sushi and assorted tempura.

Innovative ideas include Popcorn Prawn (bite-size pieces of tempura battered prawn served with Japanese mayonnaise) and the Fantastic Roll, comprising seared salmon sashimi on top of a cooked tuna and avocado roll with spicy mayonnaise, parmesan cheese, teriyaki sauce and fish roe.

Drinks range from Asahi and Kirin beers, to eight sakes.
