Features
The Push is an intimate bar beneath the Russell Hotel with a focus on cocktails and down-to-earth pub-food such as burgers and steaks. It’s named after The Rocks Push, a group of well-dressed larrikins that terrorised the area in the 1800s.
The interior is by Victoria Hampshire Designs and combines modern, custom-designed pieces with antiques. Bronzed lamps hang over tables with leather-sofa-style seating, giving the space an intimate and warm feel.
Signature cocktails dominate the drinks list and cater to most tastes, from light and fruity to rich and smoky. There’s less choice if you’re here for a beer or wine. Beers are mostly big-name lagers and pale ales. Likewise, the wine list sticks to familiar varietals from mostly mid-market producers.
