Cut Store

Cut Store is an online retailer for premium fashion imported from the United States, and this is its first physical outlet in Australia. Housed inside a beautifully renovated four-storey terrace in Surry Hills, the space is a continuation of Cut’s mission to source sustainable brands that emphasise quality and craftsmanship.

Most importantly, Cut Store caters to people of all shapes and sizes who want to curate their wardrobe around staples they’ll keep forever. Whether you’re on your own looking for a tee just because, or shopping with family or friends for a party, you’ll likely find something to suit here.

Highlights in the collection include tees, sweaters and hoodies by Perfect White Tee; chic basics by Lacausa; bohemian dresses by Malibu’s Jen’s Pirate Booty; classic leather jackets by Austin, Texas’s Understated Leather; candles by Ukiyo; costume jewellery by Luv Aj; and more. Cut receives new shipments every week and is continually expanding its relationships to bring international brands down under, so there’s always a reason to visit.

Director Hannah Maginn collaborated with artist and designer Michael Delany to transform the terrace’s street-level floor into a decadent but comfortable space bathed in Cut’s signature olive green. The change rooms – draped with oversized curtains and laid with lush carpet – are backdropped by a Matisse-inspired mural. An enormous, arched mirror tells you, “You look fucking epic” (just in case you were in any doubt).
