Walking into Blue Works is like going back to a time when the quality and construction of garments was of the utmost importance, and an eye for detail was key. Steve Fengdu is the owner. He greets each and every one of his customers as if he were welcoming them into his own home, with a warm smile and generous assistance.

His passion for vintage clothing is obvious. Everything is carefully placed just so. The name is inspired by the days when denim was worn as work wear; the store stocks indigo denim trucker jackets, army-green canvas duffle bags, leather flight jackets and an impressive collection of leather boots. The clothes are from around the world, although mostly from Japan, the UK and America.

Fengdu designed the store himself, based on the vintage stores in Japan, a country with a huge vintage-clothing obsession. The layout is simple; the clothes and accessories are stacked in timber bookshelves, spread out on large wooden desks and on a leather sofa, cracked with age.
