Menu - Mr Yum

For those who had a love affair with the Youeni of Hill Street, don’t be alarmed – the name may have changed, but the philosophies that underpin this little eatery are still informed by the same high standards. Drawing on the area’s industrial heritage, this cafe and canteen has adopted the name Foundry, but still offers a menu that sees the time-poor of the area well serviced for breakfast and lunch in this tiny wedge of a coffee spot.

The tight menu lets you start with bases like scrambled eggs with basil and fetta, or bacon and eggs (sunny side up with guacamole), and then add extras like kransky or baked beans. Lunch features a compact range of sandwiches, seasonal salads and, as always, chutneys, jams, relishes and mayos that are all made in-house.

There are still the abundant boxes of fresh vegetables tucked into corners and a luscious bowl of fresh fruit on the counter, just reiterating the commitment to produce. The end of the working week sees the introduction of Feast Fridays (noon–2pm), where you pay for a small or medium plate and then choose from a sumptuous array of dishes, spread out buffet-style on the counter.
