In what can only be described as an incredibly resourceful use of space, Ben Stronarch and Nigel Park have managed to create a cafe by converting the narrow disabled entrance of an office block into a simple but highly atmospheric espresso bar.

Coincidentally, the space bears a vague resemblance to the lobby of a hotel or apartment building, with long bench seating, identically potted plants, varnished wood and tiled floors. Outdoors on the footpath, an urban herb garden doubles as Corduroy’s curb-side seating.

Having gained cult coffee status as the perpetually happy head roaster of The Little Marionette, Stronarch (who has retained his post at TLM) will be roasting a rotating selection of seasonal blends and single origins unique to Corduroy. Frequenters of The Little Marionette will also pick the casual appearance of Stronach's more tested blends, including TLM's malty house blend.

Their Dutch breakfast, with boiled eggs, pate, sobrasado (chorzizo paste) and parma ham is one deliciously recurring breakfast item, while a menu featuring pastas, sandwiches and cakes is scribbled onto brown butchers paper and slung from the wall every morning.
