Features
Directly opposite the sunshiny space of the Prince Alfred Park swimming pool, the dim and theatrical interiors of Blacksmith cafe make the most of the name. Business partners Young Jin Cho and Nami Park have included a huge amount of detail in keeping with the cafe’s name, from mallets swinging from the ceiling to metal studwork on the tables and chairs. It’s a fun theme which sets this cafe apart. Blacksmith is the inner-city arm of the popular Mona Vale cafe of the same name, and here it does everything in house, from the sourdough bread to the pomegranate and black forest cakes.
The coffee comes via Toby’s Estate, offering cold drip and pour-over options with notes on origins and processing, including varieties such as La Cabana Gesha from Panama or Yemen Mukha Matari.
