The vibrant, art-deco textiles of Rouse Phillips are right at home in the design precinct of Oxford Street. It is a showroom space that displays Ruse Phillips’ funky, eclectic designs on fabrics, cushions, rugs and more.

Owners Tim Rouse and Anastasia Phillips have been experimenting with fabrics, prints and textiles since they first crossed paths in 2007. With degrees in design and fine arts, the pair pooled inspiration from their study, work and travel around Asia, India and Europe to launch Rouse Phillips in 2012. Cloths and yarns sourced from local and international manufacturers make up the diverse line of knotted rugs, kilims, soft furnishings and upholstery from the label.

At Rouse Phillips, traditional, 100 per cent Egyptian cotton fabrics are given a contemporary twist. There is a range of bold prints spotted with bright colours and vibrant patterns, which liven up lampshades, lounges and deckchairs. The Grecian Tile print is a turquoise and terracotta Spartan mosaic, and the Beehive pattern is concentric hexagons in black and honey-orange.

Drop by the studio and claim a plate and matching cushion before Rouse Phillips become an international success. Since being taken on by a New York textile agent, the duo’s dreams of growing their overseas presence is beginning to come true.
