From its beginnings as a design studio based in Melbourne, Nique has since established itself as a distinctly edgy and sophisticated fashion label with a growing following.
Nique’s aesthetic combines basic design concepts with solid colour palettes, thanks to founders Nick and Lucy Ennis’s knack for graphic design. Together with their design team of five, the pair creates pieces that are minimalistic, elegant and Scandinavian in style, employing unique fabrics of exceptional quality such as bamboo cotton and soya bean.
Nestled among a string of cafes on Crown Street, the Surry Hills store was designed by Adrian Amore of AAArchitects, a close friend of the couple. The store fit-out is at once industrial, polished and raw, a dynamic synonymous with the brand’s design philosophy, which marries sophisticated understatement with raw, at times acidic design. It makes for a simple and refined shopping experience, conveying Nique’s message of authenticity, acidity, articulation and affordability.
