Mr Simple was created to remedy a simple problem – too many logos. While buying in ranges for their original shop, The Lab Store, the owners struggled to find plain garments that didn’t trumpet their creator’s identity.

The Lab Store became Mr Simple in 2007, with the launch of its own range of tees and chinos. Since then the brand’s anonymous style has taken it far from its home in Melbourne, to here, Brisbane and New Zealand.

The stores’ ribbed timber facades are representative of Mr Simple’s plain, understated philosophy. Venture inside to browse the range of basic tees, chinos and shorts. More daring statement pieces break up the racks of white, black and solid-colour garments.

There are also plenty of accessories, including Herschel Supply Co. backpacks, and watches from Casio and Simple Watch Co.

You can pretty much dress head-to-toe here, provided you’re not in the market for formalwear. Not bad considering the modest size of the stores.
