Kelly & Port

womenswear

In an industry where clothes are made to fit model proportions, Kelly & Port creates styles that suit a variety of body types, and offers customers bespoke tailoring.

Owner Jennifer Kelly was once a stylist. She approached her work with the eye of a pattern designer, and realised that with a few simple changes her clients’ ill-fitting clothes could be more flattering.

The shop carries a small ready-to-wear collection and samples of skirts, tops, jackets and pants for the made-to-measure service. Customers choose sleeve length, skirt shape and fabric type.

A classic pencil skirt might be overlaid with lace, or a blouse might be made casual with the choice of chambray fabric. Kelly measures clients, and their custom garments are created locally and delivered back to the shop in a few weeks.

Customers visit the shop in Drummoyne or if they’re lucky enough to find themselves on Kelly’s mailing list, at tea parties hosted at her home. Up to 100 guests attend these parties to watch a fashion parade while they sip tea and champagne; and eat pastries and canapés.
