Hokkaido, Japan’s northern island, is famous for it dairy products. The Australian version of this traditional Japanese recipe is made with local produce, but it tastes identical to the Japanese-made tarts. It’s sticky and sweet, buttery and cheesy. It has a creamy, gooey centre surrounded by shatter-crisp pastry.
The tart maker is owned by Malaysia-based company the ST Group (also behind PappaRich), the original Malaysian store pumps out thousands of tarts daily. There are shops in Shanghai, Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei and Malaysia.
