Derived from the Swedish word for the architectural genre of 'functionalism', Funkis is an Australian design company taking strong influence from the Swedes. And being so far away on a map, it's nice to have a bit of that Scandinavian sensibility available in our own city.

Importing Swedish antiques and stocking the most modern in Northern European design, Funkis stores echo the early the 20th century Swedish movement geared towards the concept of functionality with style and sustainability. With clothing from Filippa K, Porcelain from Stig Linderg, lighting from Le Klint, and fabric from Marimekko and Ljungberg, Funkis offers the cream of Scandinavian design, while also stocking their own in-house fashion, jewellery, fabrics and homewares in bright colours.

Undoubtedly though, their trademark items are the Funkis clogs and sandals. Turning the ultimate symbol of northern Europe into an Australian staple worn by the fashion, design and comfort-conscious. Funkis makes it hip to be a highly-curated Swedish square.
