Footage opened in 2003 as a unique contributor to the local fashion landscape. Owners Karin Kuok and Phil Koh have kept the store relatively underground, wanting one of the customer experiences to be the thrill of seeking the place out.

Catering to Australian tastes, their pieces are tailor-made in small batches using Japanese or European fabrics. Both the physical and online stores sell a good selection of men’s and women’s clothing, small accessories and prepackaged food items such as hot sauce, coffee and maple syrup.

Kuok and Koh believe that sustainable, quality products are always attainable at the right price. Their products are sourced from both local and international suppliers such as 3x1 Denim, Dita Eyewear and Atelier Lumira.

The physical shop features a mix of marble, concrete, steel and timber salvaged from old ships and telegraph posts. The concept of keeping the decor classic allows for a sense of timelessness and allows the product to shine. This same aesthetic is carried over online.
