Desordre
Features
Stores like Desordre remind us of what it was like before the internet made it so shockingly easy to shop online. Step into the small, inviting boutique and you’ll find yourself examining stunning pieces from some of the best local and select international designers. The likes of Aje, Karla Spetic, Josh Goot, Ellery, Dion Lee, Stolen Girlfriends Club and Emma Mulholland all feature and you’ll quickly forget the draw of mindlessly adding items to an online shopping cart.
A passion project by two elegant dressers – Shannon Thomas and Lucinda Connery – which originally took the form of a travelling pop-up store, Desordre is today a fully-fledged fashion hub with a permanent home and a loyal following of both men and women. They support both growing Australian designers and international labels like Kimberly Ovitz and AESA, which are much loved but not readily available in Australia. Think lavish event dresses, extraordinary jackets and cool separates for those times in between.
