Beyond the emerald green tiles and pink Geranium facade of this beautiful old Crown Street terrace is a wonderful collection of boutique clothing and homewares. The Collector Store has been purveying fashion-hungry Sydneysiders with a steady flow of simple yet elegant, quality clothing since 2009.

Local fashion labels like Something Else, Secret Squirrel, Rittenhouse, Kylie Hawkes and Brent Wilson are interspersed with international designs, such as edgy French label Magali Pascal, while the back of the store houses an eclectic mix of homewares from around the world. Quirky ottomans (hamburger, rubix cube and music amp) and fair trade wooden bowls perch alongside luxurious spa products and jewellery.

South African-made sculptural deer heads, black and white photography and other original artworks (which are also for sale) adorn the walls of the store, which has a somewhat Scandinavian feel, with its warm timber-panelled walls, fuss-free layout and effortlessly chic stock.

The price range varies – expect to pay up to $50 for one of the luxe candles, but just $40 for a men’s tee.
